NL Race Summary

The Cardinals won 7-6 as Albert Pujols hit home run number 42. That’s the fourth highest season total of his career. He also tied Joe DiMaggio for 69th on the all-time home run list. One thing Albert has in common with the Yankee Clipper is a low strikeout rate. While not as extreme as DiMaggio, Pujols struck out under 60 times in four of his five seasons (and has a slight chance of doing so this year), and since his rookie campaign has not struck out 70 times.
