The Cardinals send Chris Carpenter against the Rockies Aaron Cook as St. Louis tries to clinch the NL Central and keep the NL Wild Card race interesting. Carpenter pitched very well on the road this season, allowing a .198 BA and a .239 OBP. Cook last pitched August 21st and then went on the DL with a shoulder strain. In his one start against the Cardinals he held them to four hits and one run over eight innings.
