Cardinals Hope To Clinch NL Central Title (Game Notes 9-26-09)

Adam Wainwright knows a thing or two about pitching in championship-deciding games.

As a rookie reliever in 2006, he recorded the final out of all three rounds of the postseason as the Cardinals rolled to a World Series title. Wainwright even closed out the Cards' final win of the regular season, which wasn't quite a clincher but was a must-win.

Off the field, Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez's personality ranges from quiet to soft-spoken.

Most of that persona carries over to the game. For him, an emotional release may consist of nothing more than a confident stroll off the mound after a big inning.
