It has often been said that St. Louis has the best fans in baseball, and we were exposed to a steady diet of this from broadcasters at the All-Star Game. Now there are obviously a lot of things that go into this label, but I have decided to study one that you can identify quantitatively, and that is supporting your team win or lose. Zach did a similar post earlier about the Seattle Mariners, so let’s see how the Cardinals stack up. The data I used is from 1990-2008 courtesy of Baseball Reference, and during the strike-shortened years I used winning percentage to estimate wins.
