The Newark Bears of the Atlantic League activated him from the disabled list then released him. He played in 78 games batting .239 (51-for-214) with eight doubles, three home runs, 25 RBIs, 26 runs, 29 walks, and 33 strikeouts.
Wayne Lundgren (Brockton):
The Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League placed him on the disabled list retroactive to August 19.
Jason Marquis (Rockies):
Pitcher Jason Marquis has called the Staten Island team in the Little League World Series to wish them luck. Marquis played in Williamsport, Pa., as a kid for the team, which finished third.
