The cramps that gripped Joel Pineiro’s legs and ended his previous start passed with a deluge of hydration, and the righthander hasn’t had any problems since. The St. Louis Cardinals don’t expect the muscle lock to happen again — the weather is mild here at Citi Field — and Pineiro has been keeping up with his fluids.

St. Louis Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse had an expansive bullpen session this afternoon at Citi Field, throwing a normal warmup and then simulating a complete inning, right down to the warmup tosses before facing a stand-in batter.
