In 2008, the Quad Cities River Bandits reinvigorated the community's passion for baseball, increasing attendance by 56 percent on a per-game basis and drawing more than 207,000 fans for the first time since time in a dozen years. Despite a downturn in the economy, the 2009 season has seen baseball in the Quad Cities continue to flourish.
