By acquiring Mark DeRosa from the Indians on Saturday night, the Cardinals' front office sent a message that it views 2009 differently from 2008. General manager John Mozeliak made no bones about the fact that the trade addressed a short-term need with a potential long-term cost -- nor did he apologize for that fact.
