The one of Detroit’s one-two pitching punch was knocked out in St. Louis Tuesday night as Justin Verlander took the loss, so Edwin Jackson tries to supply the two. He’ll face the Cardinal’s Todd Wellemeyer. Edwin’s road ERA stands about 1.45 runs lower than his home ERA, despite almost identical statistics. He’s given up 14 runs home and road, but six of them were unearned away from home. Home runs are ruining Wellemeyer’s June as his ERA stands at seven for the month. He’s allowed four long balls in 18 innings.
