Soon, will baseball just cover itself?
For most of the history of Baseball America, 90 percent of our major league correspondents have been beat writers for daily newspapers—the guys who were at the ballparks and in the clubhouses nearly every day. The trend in recent years has occasionally sent us more toward other sources for our correspondents, though beat writers have still been our bread and butter. With the sharp decline in the newspaper business, however, those demographics are rapidly changing.
