Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson was astounded to read that Alex Rodriguez allegedly tipped pitches to opposing batters late in blowouts while playing shortstop for the Texas Rangers, as reported in a book about the N.Y. Shortstop Jack Wilson (sprained left middle finger) took some swings in the cages on Sunday morning, the first time that he had been cleared to do so since being put on the DL on April 25. Wilson said that if all goes well, he hopes to hit off live pitching in three days. He also took groundballs again on Sunday.
