The Show Me Series features two Missouri teams in second place, both two games out of first in their league’s central division. Both teams feature better pitching than offense, although tonight’s starters, Kyle Davies and Todd Wellemeyer both come into the game with ERAs over 5.00. To Davies advantage, he’s pitching on the road, where his strikeout rate is much higher and his ERA much lower. Wellemeyer is simply getting hit hard, allowing a .321 BA overall with both lefties and righties hitting over .300 against him.
