Cardinals outfielder Rick Ankiel was activated from the disabled list on Sunday morning and was back in manager Tony La Russa's lineup for the finale of the three-game series with the Kansas City Royals, batting fifth and playing right field.

Rookie shortstop Tyler Greene, impressive in limited duty for the Cardinals this spring, was sent to Class AAA Memphis before today’s game with Kansas City to make room for outfielder Rick Ankiel, who was removed from the disabled list.
