Amaury Cazana Playing In The Triple-A Mexican League 5-17-09

The Guerreros de Oaxaca activated outfielder Amaury Antonio Cazana from the disabled list on Saturday, May 16.

Cazana missed a couple weeks of action (last playing April 23) after being hit by a pitch which cracked a bone in his arm/hand. The Cuban-born 34-year old is batting .309 with two doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 18 RBIs, 15 runs, nine walks, and 18 strikeouts in 21 games.

Oaxaca has gone 8-7 and slipped a extra game and half out of first since Cazana was deactivated. This also includes the league taking a week off due to the threat of the H1N1 virus.

He did not play Saturday as Oaxaca doubled-up Minatitlan 10-5

Also make sure to cast your vote for Cazana for the Triple-A Mexican League All-Star Game, being played in Cancun on June 7. The game and home run derby will be featured on ESPN 2.
