When manager Tony La Russa takes his 2009 roster into battle for the first time on Monday, he'll have plenty of moving parts to manipulate and levers to pull. In some ways, it's not a typical La Russa roster, with no established closer and untested players at two infield positions. In other ways, though, it's perfectly suited to No. 10's style: lots of versatile players who can fill in at a number of positions.
