Prospect Hot Sheet 4-17-09: Daryl Jones In The Team Photo; Brett Wallace's ETA

In The Team Photo

Double-A Springfield (Cardinals) outfielder Daryl Jones is off to a nice start in the Texas League. A third-round pick in 2005 out of a Houston high school, Jones is hitting .471/.609/.765 with a home run, double, four RBIs and two stolen bases. Now if he can shed the apparent bullseye on his jersey he'll be OK. You see, he was accidentally hit in the helmet by a pitch over the weekend and got hit again not once but twice on Thursday at Frisco .

Q: Dan from Denver asks:
Do you see much difference in the offensive numbers that Yonder Alonso, Pedro ALvarez, and Brett Wallace will put up in the majors? I assume Wallace will get there sometime this year, followed by Alvarez in September and Alonso next year? Thanks

A: Jim Callis:
The ETAs look fair to me. I think Alvarez will hit for more power than the other two guys, and their averages will be in the same territory. If I have to pick who will hit for the highest average, I'd say Wallace.
