Kiko Calero Makes Marlins 25-Man Roster

Perhaps more than anyone, reliever Kiko Calero wedged his way onto the Marlins' 25-man roster with a solid spring. The 34-year-old right-hander was a non-roster invitee after missing most of last season with injuries. Calero did not give up a run (and only three hits and a walk) in 10 spring innings.

''I made my pitches and I showed these guys I'm ready to pitch in the big leagues,'' Calero said. "Last year was very hard for me. I'm just happy to come back to the big leagues again.''

Calero refused an invitation to play for Puerto Rico in the WBC in order to concentrate on making the Marlins.
