Joe Thurston Is Swinging Hot Bat; Cardinals' Margin Of Victory; Adam Wainwright Stats At Busch Stadium; Jason LaRue Last Cardinal To Get In Game

Utility player Joe Thurston made his third start in six games Saturday and contributed three hits — including a double — an RBI and two runs. After receiving only 66 major-league at-bats the last seven seasons, Thurston is hitting .538 with four doubles and four RBIs in his first week with the Cardinals. He has as many long hits and twice as many RBIs as in his previous major-league career, which was divided among the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia and Boston.
