The Cubs and Cardinals play their second series of the season, the Cubs leading 2-1. The teams are even however, as they’ve both scored 19 runs in their three games. Ryan Dempster and Adam Wainwright try to tame the offenses tonight. It’s tough to figure out why Ryan Dempster’s ERA is five. He’s walked too many batters, but he hasn’t allowed an extra base hit with men on. Wainwright’s problem early on is control, walking 12 in 16 1/3 innings. He’s allowed just a .143 BA with men on base, however.
