Springfield Cardinals starter Brad Furnish had been immune to the control problems ailing the club. While others racked up double-digit walk totals and earned run averages soaring over 7, Furnish, a left-hander who was the 54th overall pick in 2006, had breezed through his first two starts, allowing only one run.
