No Longer On "Tilt", Colby Rasmus Wrecks Nationals

Today’s game hasn’t reached the seventh inning and center field prospect Colby Rasmus already has punished Washington Nationals pitching for five hits. The breakout has lifted Raz’ spring average from .231 to .298 and left him with the first five-hit exhibition game since the Los Angeles Angels’ Eric Aybar went 5-for-6 against the Kansas City Royals on March 9, 2007. Aaron Miles stood as the last Redbird to do so, as he slapped five hits against the New York Mets on March 3, 2006. Rasmus singled in the first and second innings, doubled in the third and fifth, then looped his fifth hit into shallow center after one of four Nats errors extended the sixth.
