At this point, the positional derby appears to break down quite easily. Robby Hammock and Chad Moeller are battling for the backup catching job, while Chris Gomez and Jolbert Cabrera appear to be the top candidates for the potential utility spot. Five pitchers -- Adam Eaton, Mark Hendrickson, Hayden Penn, Brian Bass and Alfredo Simon -- are vying for three rotation slots, and one of the discards could earn a job as the final reliever.
