Joe Strauss Visits With Bernie Miklasz On 1380 AM (Monday Tidbits)

  • Adam Wainwright didn't have a whole lot of command on his fast ball. Wasn't walking people, just leaving the ball out there for the hitters.
  • Trever Miller had good day.
  • Blake Hawksworth had one good inning and a bad one, Jason Motte didn't look too good either.
  • Skip Schumaker is making a tough transition.
  • Tyler Greene made errors he shouldn't have.
  • The Cardinals depth is from within not based on 6-year minor league vets, Greene will be a player to get a call in the future.
  • Brian Barton is showing more pop than last season. Probably won't make the team out of spring training, get everyday play at Triple-A Memphis.
  • Neither Adam Kennedy or Tony LaRussa talked today.
  • Joe Thurston not swinging the bat very well, not a great arm for the outfield, stock possibly dropping.
  • Joe Mather needs to show his power, David Freese is still a good lock for third base.
  • Chris Carpenter showed command and pitched real well.
