The Rays' pitching continues to look strikingly deep. Manager Joe Maddon is intrigued by lefty Carlos Hernandez, the former Astros' prospect trying to recover from shoulder problems. Reliever Jason Isringhausen, Maddon says, "is excited about the opportunity to make a team, and how cool is it to hear that coming from him?" Righties Jason Hammel and Jeff Niemann are out of options, but the Rays probably will want to keep their depth after trading righty Edwin Jackson to the Tigers for outfielder Matt Joyce.
