When St. Louis Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak makes a promise, he has proven that he sticks to his word.
Third baseman David Freese now can attest to that.
Two weeks after being sent down to minor-league camp, Freese was back in the Cardinals' major-league clubhouse Sunday, competing for the third-base job. He got the start in a 4-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles and went 1-for-3 with a run scored, singling in his first at-bat on the first pitch.
