Dan Haren Expected To Be Big Part Of Diamondbacks 2009 Rotation

The D-backs are well aware of what Webb can do. The right-hander won 22 games last year to finish second in the NL Cy Young Award voting for the second straight year -- he won the award in 2006.

Webb and Haren immediately hit it off when Haren came over from the A's last offseason and the two did a pretty fair imitation of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling, a strong one-two punch from D-backs history. No two starters on a staff combined last season for more wins, 38, than they did.

"We got on a roll together last year," Webb said. "Each time one of us had a good outing, the other wanted to do the same. I think it's even going to be more like that this year with all of us. You get a couple of guys throwing the ball good, then you get guys wanting to top each other and pretty soon you're on a roll winning games."

That's what the D-backs are counting on.
