St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Chris Duncan, who had serious surgery last August to repair a herniated cervical disk in his neck, had hit several balls hard this spring but wth only two singles in 13 at-bats to show for it. But that was before he got ahead in the count at 2-0 against New York Mets veteran Freddy Garcia in the first inning of an exhibition game today.
