The training camp roster was cut from 64 to 53. Right-handed pitcher Jeff Gray was optioned to Sacramento. Pitchers Brett Hunter, Jared Lansford, Arnold Leon, former Bishop O'Dowd and Cal star Tyson Ross, catcher Josh Donaldson and infielders former USF star Tagg Bozied, Adrian Cardenas, Chris Carter, Yung-Chi Chen and Jemile Weeks, all nonroster invitees, were assigned to the organization's minor league camp.
