News Flash: 1st Base Open, Marlins Pitch To Albert Pujols (Sort Of)

In the first inning, the Cardinals “opening day” lineup worked just like manager Tony La Russa scripted. Leadoff hitter (and second baseman) Skip Schumaker forces a hasty throw and reaches on an infield error. Left fielder Colby Rasmus follows with a liner to right field that his speed turns into a double. With nobody out, two runners in scoring position and first base open, Albert Pujols came to bat.
