The Men With Many Gloves

Already in camp and taking groundballs at a variety of positions, Joe Mather, the St. Louis Cardinals retro utility fielder, has four gloves that he’s trying to break in this spring. In order of size: he has the first baseman’s glove (the style he used in the minors); he has an outfielder’s glove; he has a third baseman’s glove (which he said is too close in size to that outfielder’s glove); and he has a middle-infielder’s glove.
