Ken Rosenthal On The ITD Morning After

  • Loves the idea of moving Skip Schumaker to second, but it's still early.
  • Tony LaRussa has never been afraid to try something new to benefit the team.
  • If it doesn't work, team could look to other options such as trading an outfielder for second baseman.
  • The move is hard on the players moving from outfield to infield, cause they need to get the footwork down.
  • Cubs are the team to beat in the NL Central even if Chris Carpenter is healthy.
  • Manny Ramirez and Scott Boras are probably looking for a third year.
  • Ramirez deserves $25 million a year, his hitting and he puts fans in the seats.
  • Alex Rodriguez is full of it.
  • Frank Thomas (retire?), Nomar Garciaparra (retire?), Luis Gonzalez, Orlando Cabrera (sit out first half?), Joe Beimel, Pedro Martinez, Dennys Reyes, Will Ohman all still available, but unlikely the Cardinals make a move. Kenny Lofton sat out due to pride.
