Joe Strauss Visits With Bernie Miklasz On 1380 (Tuesday Camp Tidbits)

  • Chris Carpenter raised his effort level and impressed Dave Duncan, still scheduled to throw to hitters on Saturday. Not total command of his breaking ball yet, but mechanics look good.
  • Both Chris Duncan and Colby Rasmus hitting real well. Duncan centering the ball, no problems with his past injuries.
  • Khalil Greene happy with the change of scenery. Timing is off in the hitting department, working with Hal McRae.
  • MLB working on changing rules, sign and trade deals such as Juan Cruz.
  • Real doubtful Cardinals make a deal for Cruz even if rules are changed.
  • Jason Isringhausen wants to come back and work with youngings. Cardinals don't seem to be interested right now. If Chris Perez and Jason Motte don't work out, Izzy could be considered.
  • Skip Schumaker is doing well at second base.
  • Troy Glaus may not return until late April.
