I could be like most people in my business and report this as if I knew it first, but, I'm not like most people in my business. My friend Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch passed along a nice tidbit about Joe Mather while we were enjoying some takeout from the Hurricane Grill & Wings restaurant. Please, file this under the "Nothing at Cardinals camp is a coincidence" file. Joe Mather has changed numbers. Please check out Goold's story. When I spoke to Mather yesterday, he wore the #62. When I saw him today, he was #62. Apparently that will not be the case when I see him Wednesday.
