Cardinals Winter League Notebook 1-7-08

*Mexican Pacific League*

Hugo Castellanos (Memphis-free agent): Entered in the eighth and pitched to five batters. Allowed two hits, three earned runs, one walk, and struck out one. Castellanos picked up the hold but also took the loss for the game. (ground out-fly out:1-0)(inherited runners-scored:1-1)
Former Memphis Redbird Dan Serafini started for Obregon and pitched seven innings allowing seven hits, two runs, one home run, and striking out eight.
Former Memphis Redbird Iker Franco doubled and hit a solo home run for Obregon.
Obregon gave up six runs in the eighth and lost 6-5 to Mazatlan: Boxscore
Obregon have now been eliminated from the tournament, only winning one of five games played.
