Cardinals Unnecessary Second & Third Base Intrigue

In a winter that has grown increasingly contentious across the Cardinal Nation, the St. Louis Cardinals front office has made some curious moves in recent days.

ive heard back and forth whether the cardinals are making an attempt to make us better,but when i read joe buck say they better start spending some money,im convinced they aren't doing anything but counting their money.its time to at least get us a closer

i think the pieces will come together sometime in the 2009 season (larussa & duncan make things happen). but you really can't say they are sitting back counting their money. lots of their dollars went into the new busch stadium that they are still paying for and they are putting a lot of time & money into the player development side of the organization. building a good farm system is a key especially if they intend to make a future trade or anything along those lines. jocketty spent his time here trading away our whole entire system to the point we had nothing left to deal. was his idea entirely bad, no we got a world series. but you need prospects for that just in case reason (injuries, etc). the cards probably won't make a move til spring training starts to get rolling and they get an idea of what they have and/or need. i think we have to wait on spring training and i'll point to the economy thing too that might have an affect on who's gonna spend money to come out to the games.
