You can't help feeling bad for both Chris Carpenter and the St. Louis Cardinals. The 2005 Cy Young winner was one of the best acquisitions ever when the Cards signed him in December 2003, after a shoulder injury prompted Toronto to discard him, but he has had nothing but grief since signing a five-year, $63.5 million deal after helping St. Louis steal the World Series in 2006.
