The A's asked their fans to vote online throughout the season to determine the best players during the club's 40 years in the East Bay, and five of them will be on hand Sunday when the 40th Anniversary Team is formally unveiled before the last home game of the season.

The one thing Red Sox right fielder J.D. Drew had been during his lengthy absence from the lineup was optimistic. But Drew, who has been on the shelf with a troublesome lower back since Aug. 18, is finding that more difficult with each frustrating day.
