The Cardinals felt compelled by Albert Pujols' comments about his elbow injury to issue a statement Tuesday that the club has no "clear indication" that the injury "will or will not require future surgery." In a televised interview Monday, Pujols said he was thinking about having postseason surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right elbow. On Tuesday, Pujols said the elbow has not been as sore this season as it was a year ago and that he doesn't envision having surgery once this season ends.
