Former No. 1 draft pick Ron Villone has done it all in the big leagues, serving as a starter or reliever for 11 different teams in a career that began in 1995. Villone, 38, signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals in February, made the team in spring training and has been one of manager Tony La Russa's busiest relievers, working in 43 games and posting a 4.71 ERA. Villone, a former football star at the University of Massachusetts, talked to News-Democrat reporter David Wilhelm about his long career, his future plans and what it's been like playing for La Russa and pitching coach Dave Duncan.
