Former Baylor pitcher Mark McCormick appears to be coming back strong after missing most of last season with a rotator cuff injury.
Pitching for Springfield (Mo.) in the Double-A Texas League, McCormick delivered his best performance of the season as he allowed just three hits, a walk and three earned runs in seven innings Monday against Corpus Christi.
The St. Louis Cardinals farm hand hasn’t recorded a decision in four games, but he’s got a 3.00 ERA while allowing 13 hits and 10 walks in 18 innings.
