Was released by River City(Frontier League).

Jose Contreras(Quebec/Can Am League):
Brought back after being released a couple weeks ago.

Troy Cate(Orange County/Golden League):
Signed to a 2008 contract after being released by the Oakland Athletics.

Marlon Anderson(Mets):
So they remained precisely that, parlaying Monday's off-day into some additional rest. Now, Alou is back on the team -- and he's not alone. The Mets activated both Alou and utility man Marlon Anderson on Tuesday, placing Ryan Church on the disabled list and designating third catcher Raul Casanova for assignment.
