With their second win of the series in Colorado Tuesday night, the Cardinals are now 22-12, the second-best record in the league (though they’re fifth by adjusted standings). Why? It’s no secret, of course, that their starting pitching — no thanks to Chris Carpenter, Mark Mulder or Matt Clement (who together have 1.64 Cy Young Shares) — has done a yeoman’s job so far.
