Ditto for the Cardinals, who probably aren't going to vie for a playoff spot, even in the lackluster NL Central. However, it's still bad news that elite slugger Albert Pujols has a torn ligament in his elbow. He's hoping that he won't be forced to go under the knife during the season, but it remains to be seen whether A) he can stay healthy enough to avoid surgery, and B) to what extent his production will be affected.
