Kip Wells(Rockies):(He has no K's over 9 innings this spring)
When Kip Wells went four innings against the Royals on Friday, it was the fourth mediocre performance by a starting candidate in three days.

Daric Barton & Kiko Calero(Athletics):
Daric Barton's injured left hand was examined by a local orthopedic specialist on Thursday and manager Bob Geren reported a day later that injury is probably not serious.

Right-handed reliever Kiko Calero pitched off the mound for the first time this spring on Friday. Calero has been nursing a non-surgically repaired rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder.

Jim Edmonds(Padres):
Jim Edmonds' availability for Opening Day is in jeopardy, as the right calf strain he suffered on Thursday looks more serious than the team originally thought.

Edgar Gonzalez(Padres):
You certainly don't have to ask twice to get Adrian Gonzalez to openly champion the cause for his older brother Edgar, who is attempting to make the team as a utility man.

Sidney Ponson(Free Agent):
Rangers have interest in Ponson: Texas had someone watch free agent starter Sidney Ponson work out at the Cardinals' spring training facility in Jupiter, Fla., on Thursday. The club might consider Ponson as depth at the Triple-A level.

"You always have to keep you eyes open," Daniels said. "I take comfort in the reports I'm getting on our starters. But you always stay open-minded to adding depth."
The Rangers also scouted Ponson in the Dominican Republic in January. They pursued him before the 2002 and 2006 seasons.

Andy Cavazos(Mets):
The Mets' first camp moves of the spring dropped a baker's dozen of players into their Minor League camp.
