Freshly absent from this list will be former top-shelf GMs like John Schuerholz (promoted upstairs), Terry Ryan (retired), Larry Beinfest (promoted upstairs), and Walt Jocketty (forced out for reasons sufficient only unto Cardinals ownership). Still, there's plenty of GM talent still in baseball, and these guys are the best of the best:
