The Cardinals' interest in bringing back free-agent right-hander Jeff Weaver doesn't appear especially serious. General manager John Mozeliak said that when he signed free-agent right-hander Matt Clement, he fully expected Clement to progress at a slower pace than the team's other rotation candidates.
