ESPN's Howard Bryant asks the perfectly logical question: "Why should I celebrate McGwire's career if he won't defend it?" McGwire refused to address his past at a Congressional hearing in March 2005, and has not said anything meaningful since. He also has not followed through on his pledge to "use whatever influence and popularity that I have to discourage young athletes from taking any drug that is not recommended by a doctor."
