jrocke217: hey gordo
what are your thoughts on the cardinals making colby rasmus available? if they are willing to make him available for erik bedard, why not throw him out there for scott kazmir or johan santana? personally i hate the idea of making him available for trade, but i guess that's one of the main reasons for a farm system.thanks
Jeff Gordon: Kazmir is another guy capable of fetching the world in a deal, since he has been one of the most coveted young hurlers for years. So the deal would be "Rasmus and What Army" for Kazmir or Santana.
Again, the Cards are smart this winter, they will have tons of opportunity next winter with more money and more prospects to spend. In the meantime, they would hope that their doctors, trainers and coaches could salvage 2008 somehow.

jrocke217: i read in the fox sports section about an idea of trading scott rolen for troy glaus. both need to get out of their current teams & situations. does that sound like a reasonable deal?
Jeff Gordon: Rolen is willing to waive his no-trade, but he would REALLY have to want out to do that.
----------------------------------------------------------------
jrocke217: what are the chances of the trade talks between the cardinals & brewers firing back up any time soon? i read that the talks could get back going again, but i'm skeptical about it.
Jeff Gordon: The Cards would lover the losers in the Miguel Cabrera deal to revisit the Rolen situation. Mozeliak had to be miffed at La Russa, because that outburst (however justifiable) reduced Scott's near-term trade value. Other teams will assume that "Mo" is desperate to make a move.
jrocke217 says: thanks again gordo for answering my questions
