A Boston television station reported on its Web site that the Cardinals (along with the Angels, Braves and Yankees) were one of four teams that had offered a four-year contract to Lowell. However, Cardinals GM John Mozeliak told MLB.com on Thursday morning that the report is untrue as it regards St. Louis.
