Cardinals right fielder Carlos Beltran did not play for a second straight day today because of a bruised little toe on his right foot. But Beltran reported himself “a little better” this afternoon and will travel after the game to Fort Myers, Fla, to join the Puerto Rican team which will begin play in the World Baseball Classic next Friday in San Juan, P.R.
